NEET: Stalin urges PM to consider TN’s request

Chennai: Chief Minister M K Stalin on Wednesday begged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to consider the request of the Tamil Nadu government for the release of the state from the Enterprises of the National Entrance (NEET) for medical education.
Stalin spoke at an event to formalize 11 new medical colleges by the Prime Minister through video conferencing.
“Tamil Nadu acceptance policy plays a very important role in our health infrastructure.
This is to protect this that we have continued to demand the exception of NEET for Tamil Nadu.
I begged the United Government to consider our requests well,” Stalin said.
The bill to free the country from Neet, unanimously passed by the state legislature in September, still not called by Governor R N Ravi to President Ram Nath Kovind.

“Our principle is to ensure rural and poor students get opportunities.
The success of the Tamil Nadu’s health sector is the result of this principle.
We continue to insist that Tamil Nadu must be released from Neet so that this basic principle is not compromised,” Stalin said.
