Neighbor of the murder of an old woman for gold

Thiruvananthapuram: Vizhinjam police have arrested a family of three members, including a woman, her living partner and her son for allegedly killing a 74-year-old woman for seizing her gold ornaments.
Police identified the defendant as Rafeeqa Beevi, 50, his partner Al Ameen, 26, came from Palakkad and his son Shafeeq, 23.
Santhakumari from Alumni Veedu in Mulloor was the victim in this case.
The police said that the alleged murder occurred on Friday morning in the defendant’s rented house.
Santhakumari is the neighbor next to them.
The crime was carried out on the same day they should empty rented houses.
‘”At around 10:30 a.m., the allegedly invited Santhakumari to their homes and strangled him using a scarf and hit his head using a hammer,” said Vizhinjam station “officer home inspector Prajeesh Sasi.
They then took the gold ornaments worn by the deceased and escaped from the house.
Before leaving, they kept a corpse in the attic house.
Crime became public when the son of the house owner reached around 8:30 a.m.
Son and friends of homeowners use one room building outside the home for the purpose of competitive exam training classes.
When he arrived at night, he noticed that the door of the house was closed, but the key was left at the door.
When he entered, he saw blood dripping down from the attic and told the police.
The police initially suspected that it was Rafeeqa who died.
Immediately, they identified the deceased as Santhakumanari.
With the help of cyber experts, the police learned that the trio was in Thycaud at night.
It is the same place where the bus between private countries began the journey.
The police assumed that the defendant planned to escape from the city and notify all police stations to check the distance bus.
At midnight, the police team intercepted the bus in Kazhakootam and arrested allegations.
During interrogation, the defendant told the police that they committed a crime due to the financial crisis.
The three don’t have a stable job.
Al Ameen and Shafeeq used to work at the restaurant in Kovalam.
Al Ameen lost his job recently because of his lifestyle that did not involve alcoholism.
The defendant has robbed a gold necklace, a pair of gold earrings, two gold bracelets and golden rings of the victim.
Before taking a bus at night, they mortgaged some ornaments for Rs 50,000.
The defendant will be produced before the court on Sunday.
