Khanna: Gagandeep Singh, the alleged deceased and the key in the case of Ludhiana Blast, has a reputation for picking up fighting with neighbors while some of his acquaintances know themselves.
However, some old friends, who played cricket with him were surprised after his name was cut in the explosion, and said that he was depressed after losing his job.
Gagandeep, 30, who has been dismissed from the police, lives with his family in Professor Colony in Lalheri Road here.
He died in a bomb blast in the Ludhiana court complex and was believed that he was allegedly trying to plant a bomb when he left.
His family belongs to his wife, an old father of Amarjit Singh, 7-year-old daughter and my brother of Rinku.
Regional residents, asked not to be named, said that he had played cricket with Gagandeep in his teen years and knew him as a quiet person who would not speak much.
He said he was surprised to know about the death of Gagandeep in the explosion.
“If he has committed a cruel crime, he deserves to get the end like trying to kill innocent people through a bomb is sin,” he said.
Another friend of Lalheri Road Area, who is his classmate, remembers Gagandeep as a gentle person, who cannot endanger anyone during his school days.
He said after being dismissed from police service in a drug case, he was very upset and worried whether he would get a job or not.
“Frustration may have pushed it into a dark world.
But I think he changed after he went to prison because there he might come into contact with anti-social people,” he added.
Meanwhile, several residents of Jalan No.
13 in Teacher Tha Bahadur Nagar where Gagandeep lived before shifting to a new home in Professor Colony accused it was an open secret that he experienced drug smuggling and liquor.
Gurdev Singh, a former bank manager, who lives on the same road, alleged that after he aroused objections to the sale of liquor and drugs on the road, Gagandeep and his legs raised him in about a year.
Gurdev also alleged that having the authority took action against him at that time, he would not commit a criminal crime like that.
He said the Gagandeep family came to live on their way nine until 10 years ago and his mother died about five years ago.
Other regional residents, Rita Rani, widow of a retired police, alleged that Gagandeep had received false documents from their homes made and sold them to a police officer in 2017.
He further alleged that they had to prove that the house belonged to them.
“He will bring a vehicle carrying liquor and park it outside our home and people will tell me not to let him do it,” he thought.
In the afternoon, the police team led by Khanna SSP Balwinder Singh reached the deceased’s house and took his wife to complete the legal formality before cremation.
