Noida: A young man was arrested on Sunday for allegedly stabbing his 18-year-old neighbor’s daughter on Saturday after a fight with a family on the boundary wall in sector 63.
The accusation was identified as Badal, a daily wage worker.
Virendra Singh, Inspector, Police Station Phase-3 said that the two groups accused each other over the issue of encroachment.
“This caused an argument after Badal used a knife to stab his neighbor’s daughter in his hand and face several times,” the officer said.
He added that other neighbors intervened and called the police channel.
A team reached the place and the girl rushed to the nearest hospital for treatment.
Badal, however, managed to escape from that place.
Based on family complaints, a case was registered against the defendant at the Phase-3 police station below section 324 (voluntarily caused injuries to weapons or dangerous facilities) from the IPC and the relevant parts of the arms law.
Badal was arrested at the end of Saturday night from sector 63 after a tip-off of an informant, said Singh.
He was produced in front of the court and then sent to the court detention.
