Nepal Border: Agency collects info about religious places

Lucknow: As part of complete training launched by the National Security Council (NSC), Indian intelligence and security institutions collect every possible detail about religious places located on the upper side of the Indo-Nepal border.
In addition, agents also trace the abundance of cellphone signals, radio and television from across the border, and NGOs and social organizations active in the region and their political affiliation, if any.
Mammoth training is part of a complete NSC study on these aspects and its significance assessment in terms of national security.
Intelligence and police agents in Maharajanj, Siddharthnagar, Bahraich, Shraverti, Balrami, Lakhimpur Kheri and Pilibhit have been asked to collect details of all “significant religious places in the border area” with specific mention of “mobile quality, TV signals and radio networks from across the border, if any “.
They were also asked to provide details of active NGOs in the border area.
Reports received so far stated that cellular networks, radio and television Nepal have clear or vague penetration into Indian borders.
It’s more because in almost all border districts, Indian telecommunications operators do not have a signal or network that is very fainted on a strip of 5 km along the border on the Indian side.
In accordance with the information collected so far, Nepal ‘N Cell’ cellular networks, ‘Yen cells’ and ‘Namaste’ include 1-1.5 km from India in the Thoothibari and Sonauli areas in Maharajanj and several border areas in Bahraich.
Nepal TV and Radio have deeper penetration in Maharajanj.
However, because Indians are not too familiar with Nepalese language, they usually don’t listen.
Likewise, FM Nepal’s broadcast, Krishnasar FM and Bageshwari FM is hard and clearly in the Bahraich district border area.
In Shraverti, Balrampur, Kheri and Pilibhit districts, Nepal Telecom networks are available up to 5 km in Indian land while FM channel signals such as 91.4 MHz and Radio Ganthantra 95.1 MHz work effectively.
Focusing on religious places along the border, intelligence agencies have also registered Baudh Stupa in Siddharthnagar, a temple and tomb in Bahraich, a temple and church in Kheri, 23 mosques in Shraivas, and 60 other mosques and 59 madrasas in Maharajanjanj.
All of this is located in a police circle that covers the border area in their respective districts.
