Nepal confirmed the new mutant from the ‘Delta’ Covid-19 variant

Kathmandu: Nepal on Tuesday has confirmed the new mutant infection of the Delta Covid-19 variant because cases continue to increase with relaxation commands of occupants.
The Ministry of Health and the Nepalese population confirmed the existence of the Kappa variant (B.1.617.1), an interesting variant among others.
The Himalayas have reported cases of Alta and Delta variants.
“All 47 samples tested recently were confirmed to be a Delta variant.
However, three of them were found new mutants known as K417N from the Delta variant,” the Ministry said in the release.
Nepal has so far recognized Alfa (B.1.617.1) and Deta variant (B.1.617.2) as a variant of concern and Kappa variant (B.1.617.1) as an interesting variant.
“It is said that the mutant of the new Delta variant is detected more fatal than the mutant detected before.
This mutant tends to infect people with all age groups,” read the release.
Mohp has urged everyone to take extra precautions and follow health safety standards to avoid the possibility of this viral infection.
The ministry has also asked all to prepare for the third wave of Covid-19 which is said by experts will be far more challenging than the first wave and the second wave of pandemic.
Nepal on Tuesday itself recorded a total of 3,899 new Covid-19 cases taking national tally to 742,817.
A total of 12,655 swab samples used the RT-PCR method, where 2,726 was returned positively and 4863 people underwent an antigen test for viruses, where an additional 1,173 was tested positive.
Total tests, 21.54% of PCR and 24.12% of the antigen samples returned positively, maintaining the level of peposititivity per day as a whole at 22.25%.
To this day, there are 30,009 active cases throughout the country.
From them, 2,898 were hospitalized, 611 in the intensive care unit and 171 on the ventilator.
In the last 24 hours, 1,778 people have achieved recovery while 20 deaths have been reported.
Of the total cases so far, 647,079 people have recovered.
Likewise, 9,758 died, according to the Ministry.
Likewise, 1,457,670 people have been fully vaccinated while 3,462,340 has been vaccinated with a single dose.
Nepal’s current level of nepalitant is 94.4% while the mortality rate is 1.5%.
