Nagpur: The state government on Tuesday took two important decisions related to political and job reservations for OBC.
The state has decided to issue regulations for OBC political reservations for the upcoming local agency poll while keeping the overall limit of 50% remains intact.
The second decision is to increase the quota for class III and IV category jobs in eight districts where the more tribal population.
Regarding regulations, opposition leader Devendra Fadniv said, “I welcome the decision by the state government but the work has not been done.
In fact, this should be done in December 2019 when the Supreme Court has mentioned about this.
By the way, now we have to move forward and Complete a triple test mandated by SC and work to prepare empirical reports.
“He added that the state government must also work on how political reservations can be given to OBC in the future because the Bypoll scheduled for next month is too close.
Senior BJP leader Chandrashekhar Bawankule said the state government finally seemed to have built.
“They just try to be smart and do something for aesthetic values.
All of this (Ordonance) can be done before but the government let it drag,” Bawankule said.
The OBC leader Babanrao Taywade said, “The point is that the state government cannot provide a political reservation of 27% for OBC because it will violate the 50% limit.
So, it is now up to the central government to change the constitution and increase this limit,” Taywade said.
He also decided to resign because member of the OBC Commission said the ball was in the central court.
At job ordering, Taywade said, “I thank the state government of the top of the decision related to the class III and Class IV category because we have struggled for it since the last seven years.
In eight of these regencies, the OBC job quota took a blow because of The high tribal population.
While I haven’t entered details about how exactly the OBC applicants will be accommodated, I still welcome the decision because it shows the willingness of the state to listen to residents.
