AMSTERDAM: Netherlands celebrity Memphis Depay has speculated he is on the brink of putting a move to Barcelona because he confessed his desire to team up with former national team coach Ronald Koeman.
“Things will get obvious with the move.
I need to make it at this for today,” Depay stated after being asked about his team at a press conference before the Netherlands’ Euro 2020 match on Thursday from Austria.
“Everybody knows that I’ve been connected to Barcelona for quite a while and that I’d like to perform underneath Ronald Koeman.
“Let us wait and watch.” Depay, 27, is a free agent after deciding to not extend his contract by Lyon, for whom he scored 20 goals before Ligue 1 year.
A mooted go to Barcelona already dropped through in the start of the season.
Koeman moved into the Camp Nou past August with spent two years handling Depay together with the side.
Barcelona have strengthened their strike with the signing of Sergio Aguero in Manchester City in a yearlong thing.
