Hyderabad: TRS has never promised to give three hectares to poor Dalit families in the state, chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said on the floor of the assembly on Tuesday.
CM also says there is no lot of land available again to be distributed.
What TRS said in the past was Dalit will be given the minimum agricultural land needed to provide for their families, CM said.
For example, if the Dalit family has two hectares, the government will give one Acre again.
CM says according to the study of three hectares of agricultural land is needed per family to make a living.
The distribution of land assigned by the government was previously carried out unwindly, he claimed.
KCR clarification comes in response to the question filed by the Aimim Leader Aimim Akbaruddin Owaisa about whether the plan to distribute three hectares will continue after the Dalit family has been given Rs 10 lakh ‘Dalit Bandhu scheme’.
Akbaruddin also searched for clarification if the government had improved prices as Rs 7 lakh per acre to be distributed to Dalits.
He said in this case three hectares would be worth RS 21 Lakh, while the ‘Dalit Bandhu’ scheme promised only Rs 10 lakh per Dalit family.
CM said there was no fixed price to buy land for Dally, adding that the government had stepped by paying Rs 7 lakh per acre to the private sector in Khammam Regency while looking for land.
The state has provided more than 16,000 hectares to the Dalit family to date, said CM.
KCR also said that not much land was available for distribution because the country itself did not have a little on Land Bank and obtained land for various projects.
CM said the existing scheme for Dalit will continue along with the ‘Dalit Bandhu’ program.
He, however, said that the government would review the need for various schemes in the future after the implementation of ‘Dalit Bandhu’.
