New approach needed to secure national interests, said the President

Udhagamandalam: President of RAM Nath Kovind on Wednesday said there was a need to think of new ways to secure national interests and ensure national security because the country passed a challenging time.
He was taken to the training officers at the Defense Staff (DSSC) staff in Wellington.

“This will require a new approach.” Kovind said students would be given comprehensive input during the staff courses to help them understand changes in dynamics.
Referring to the Covid-19 pandemic, the President said all humanity experienced difficult times and that the pandemic had an impact on all walks of life.
Kovind expressed confidence that professional learning in DSSC would allow student officers to absorb the necessary competencies.
“To become an effective leader, officers must show excellence in private and professional domains.” He also appreciated the extraordinary grit and determination that was displayed by the armed forces in handling the situation on the border.
