New Delhi: The Ministry of Transportation Road told the new regime “Bharat Series (BH)” for registration of private vehicles owned by defense personnel, employees of the central and state government, PSU and the company and private sector organizations, which have their office in four.
or more state and UTS.
This scheme will be voluntary.
At present, someone is allowed to keep a maximum vehicle of 12 months in any state besides the situation in which he is registered.
The owner must regain the registered vehicle again before the end of 12 months.
The pilot scheme of the “BH” series was told by the aim of making the vehicle transfer to another country smooth and troublesome.
There are most likely such people often transferred and they need to take their private vehicles to other countries.
Vehicles are registered with this new series “BH”, which stands for Bharat does not require re-registration when the owner is transferred to a new country.
Vehicle owners will have the option to go for the “BH” series and in this case they have to pay taxes for two years or in multiples of two.
The whole process will be made online to ensure no need to go to RTOS.
Toi on April 28 first reported this proposed step.
Previously the ministry had proposed a series “inside”.
It also proposes that private company employees who have offices at least five states and UT will be eligible.
In final notification, the “inside” series has been replaced with “BH”.
At present, when registering a private vehicle, the owner needs to pay a 15-year road tax in advance.
If they transfer their vehicles to other countries and go for re-registration, they need to pay road taxes for the remaining years such as 10 or 12 years.
Then they need to claim the amount paid from the situation where the vehicle was originally registered.
The new regime aims to end this problem.
This center has not passed for a system where the number of road taxes is automatically transferred among countries considering that all countries need to come to this and both road tax plates differ from country to country.
In the new “BH” series regime, the Ministry has repaired a road tax of 8% for vehicles for RS 10 lakh, 10% for those who cost between Rs 10-20 lakh and 12% for vehicles more than Rs 20 Lakh.
There will be 2% additional costs for diesel vehicles and electric vehicles will be subject to 2% less tax.
Motor vehicle tax or road tax will be collected for two years or in multiples of two.
“After finishing the fourteenth year, motor vehicle tax will be collected every year which will be half of the number of previously charged for the vehicle,” said a ministry official.
