LONDON: New restrictions in the UK to slow down the spread of Covid-19 will only be introduced as a last attempt, Health Minister Sajid Javid, emphasizes that even though hospitalization increases, the number of patients in stable intensive care.
The rapid spread of Omicron variants throughout the UK has sent infection to record the highest, with nearly 190,000 new cases reported on Friday.
England has not brought new rules for Britain, which accounts for more than 80% of the British population.
Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland were all forced with limits such as the number of accused of gathering, nightclub cover and social distance steps in the pub.
“Our freedom of choice must be an absolute last choice,” Javid wrote in an article published in Saturday’s Daily Mail newspaper.
“We must give ourselves the best opportunity to live with a virus and avoid strict steps in the future.” Javid has said on December 27 that there was no new limit to be implemented in the UK before the end of 2021.
The article suggested no one would soon occur in 2022.
He said that while the surge of Omicron meant this was a worrying time, England began the new year A position that is much stronger than in the previous 12 months, thanks to the high level of vaccination against Covid.
“The figure in the intensive care unit is stable and currently does not follow the trajectory we have seen this time last year during alpha waves,” he wrote.
He acknowledged that because the lag of time between infection and hospitalization, a major increase in people who needed care from national health services (NHS) could not be avoided.
“This tends to test the limits of NHS capacity limited even more than a distinctive winter,” he said, urging citizens to do everything they could to protect themselves.
