Hyderabad: Scientists from various research institutions, including the city center for cellular and molecular biology (CCMB) have claimed to have translated the mystery behind the appearance of the new Coronavirus novel variant.
In a research study published on July 27 on Medrxiv Pracrint MEDRXIV server, scientists said the virus changed in the body of an infected person and after completion, it infects new people who bring change with it.
This results in the appearance of a new variant.
The team found that around 80 percent of the genome sorted in individuals then appeared as a variant or new strain.
Scientists say tracking from time to time – the variability of virus hosts in individuals and populations may provide important leads to favorable or dangerous sites.
This information will be a big utility to predict the spread and infectivity of the virus strain in the population.
Conjoint analysis with intra-hosted variability of the Coronavirus genome novel must be the next step, “said this study.
Besides CCMB, researchers from the Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology (CSIR-IGIB), Delhi, Institute of Life Sciences, Bhubaneswar, Academy for Scientific and Innovative Research, Ghaziabad, Disease Control Center, New Delhi, and Institute of Technology India, and India, and India, Jodhpur, participated in this study.
The researchers analyzed the covid-19 patient samples from two different pandemic time periods.
In phase 1, the team analyzed 1,347 samples collected by June 2020 from China, Germany, Malaysia, England, the United States and a different subpopulation of India to understand a single nucleotide variation map (ISNV) Genom wide in Covid-19 patients.
Single nucleotide variations (SNV ) is a nucleotide substitution (nucleic acid base building block or genetic material) for the other.
The team observed 18,146 ISNV sites who cared P Virus Genoms, including residues that define B.1 and B.6 lines of the prominent virus in the population listed before June 2020.
“Interestingly, 41% of all unique ISNVs identified in this case the sample found was reported as a single variation of nucleotide or SNV on September 30, 2020 in one or more samples submitted in GISAID, it increased to around 80% on June 30, 2021.
The possibility that ISNV can be overtimely manifested into the further population is proven in phase 2 by analyzing 1,798 samples sorted in India between India November 2020 and May 2021, “the researchers said.
They found that ISNV in most deltas (B.1.617.2) and Kappa (B.1.617.1) The position of the genome that defined before fixation of them as SNV in February 2021.
“These results highlight the importance of ISNV recordings as an extension to the genome supervision program To allow more accurate models for epidemiology of viruses, “they said.
The team also found an ISNV in about 87% of sites in a surge protein recently reported to provide antibody resistance.
This mutation can have large implications in vaccine response because it can change immunogenicity.
