Kolkata: Fresh Disposal Holes have developed in the Indrani Park, triggering alarms among residents and nature lovers who are afraid of small green patches will disappear if there is no action.
Residents and houses of the company who treated the park have written to government institutions but there has not been an intervention.
“I hope the authorities will immediately step to save the park,” said Associate Professor Debnita Chakravarti.
KMDI authorities say they are trying to come up with a solution.
“The problem has been discussed earlier with a kit.
There is a plan to see the problem after Chhath Puja,” said a kmda official on Tuesday.
“This work may not require more than Rs 4-5 lakh but estimates must be placed before the government,” he said.
Nandini Chakravarty, MD from Mine Line Pvt Ltd which has treated the park as part of its CSR program for one and a half half, said aid immediately required to save the park.
It is currently closed to prevent accidents.
