Gurugram: Deputy Minister of Haryana Dushyant Chautala, who also holds the excise and tax portfolio, said on Saturday the government had collected RS 3,000 Crore in Excise Revenues in the current year which was more than the amount collected in the same period of the year.
Chautala, who is in Gurugram to inaugurate the construction of new offices and tax departments in sector 32 in Gurugram, associates higher income collection with the implementation of new excise policies and strict examinations.
Built at the cost of Rs 57 Crore, officials said, the new office building will have room for 650 officials and department employees.
At present, the department has an office in Info City-1, which they share with MCG and HSVP.
Meanwhile, Deputy CM said that total excise income for 2021-22 (up to September) of four types of taxes – PPN, CST, GST and Excise – was Rs 20,558 Crore, while in the same period last year RS 12,831 Crore was accepted by the government .
This, he added, showed an increase in economic activity and economic recovery after a pandemic.
Even in 2020-21, in the middle of a pandemic, the excise department’s liquor contract was auctioned for RS 3,559 Crore while the reserve price was Rs 3.128 Crore.
For 2021-22, those who already have an option license to take a contract with a 10% increase and most contracts are updated.
In the current excise (2021-22), revenue from the contract of liquor Rs 3,803 Crore has been received in the form of costs.
