Abu Dhabi Abu Dhabi Mahkota Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al-Nahyan hosted PM Naftali Bennett on Monday at the first public meeting between the ruler de facto and an Israeli leader.
The Israeli ambassador for Abu Dhabi, speaking in front of the meeting, said Iran’s problems would be “of course appearing”.
The meeting followed the formalization of Israeli-UAE’s relationship last year with US-led regional initiatives.
In a statement before his departure, Bennett said he had held a conversation “meaningful, in-depth and direct” about the region.
Releasing a photo of Bennett and Sheikh Mohammed who smiled and shook hands, the Israeli PM office described the meeting as “historic”.
Before he flew home later, Bennett’s office said Sheikh Mohammed had received an invitation to visit Israel.
There is no confirmation from UAE officials.
A statement about the WAM state news agency said Sheikh Mohammed voiced hope for “stability in the Middle East (West Asia” and that Bennett’s visit will “advance the relationship of cooperation towards more positive steps for the benefit of the people of two regions”.
