Vadodara: Covid-19 solves all previous records on Wednesday at Vadodara.
Fresh Covid-19 cases registered in the City and District of Vadodara during the third wave of Covid-19 on Wednesday more than doubled what had registered during the peak of the second wave last year.
With the spread of fast rising infections, Vadodara registered 2,252 fresh Covid-19 cases on Wednesday.
It is not only a single-day-old-day that has been registered by Vadodara since the beginning of the pandemic but also more than doubled the number of cases registered on May 7 last year when the city and district registered 989 cases at its peak.
The peak case which was registered by Vadodara during the first wave was 135 on September 19, 2020.
Infection spreads much faster than the first and second waves.
While it was almost six months later the first wave peak was registered in September, the number of peak cases during the second wave also came after several months.
The number of positive cases registered in a day has crossed the peak last year on January 13, ahead of Uttarayan’s celebration when the city and district have registered 1,047 cases.
“The spread of infection is not so fast during the first and second waves.
We still don’t know the peak.
Fortunately, the hospital was lower, and the people recovered within three to five days,” said Dr.
Devesh Patel, Medical Officer (Health) from Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC).
The fresh case of Covid-19 was the result of 11,162 samples tested in the last 24 hours ending Wednesday night.
With the addition of a new case, the total number of positive Covid-19 cases since the beginning of the pandemic touched 86,346 the amount of release during the day as high as 937 took the total number of patients thrown away for 76,197.
The city and the district now count 9,525 active cases that are 9,290 are under house isolation.
Vadodara rustic on the other side adds 254 new cases to take the total number of infected individuals to 28.098.
