New IPCC reports to contribute to the climate model that is not legally developed by India

New Delhi: India has developed a genuine climate models to predict the impact of climate change on monsoon in the country, said the Ministry of Earth Sciences (Moes) while announcing new initiatives, including the launch of a new mobile app that is exclusive to Pune, on the day of its foundation on Tuesday.
Advanced Earth System Model (ESM), which was developed at the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM) of the Ministry, is the first climate model from South Asia which has contributed to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Assessment Report of the Sixth (AR6).
The first part of the AR6 – The Physical Science Basis of Climate Change – will be released on August 9.
The report, Climate change 2021: The Physical Science Basis, will provide the latest knowledge about the “Warming Warming Projections Past and Future”, shows how and why the climate has turned into today.
It will include a better understanding of human influence on the climate including extreme events.
“There will be a greater focus on regional information that can be used for climate risk assessment,” said IPCC – UN agencies to assess the science relating to climate change – in a statement said, opening a virtual meeting on Monday to approve the next report.
Mobile app Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), ‘Pune Weather Live’, will provide real-time weather updates and specific locations for Pune City.
This application, released by the Secretary of Moes Madhavan Rajeevan, direct data capture, including information on rainfall, from more than 80 weather stations.
Rainfall data in the app will be updated every 15 minutes.
The problem of climate models, ESM, called by the participants during the celebration of the Foundation of the 15 Ministry where the Minister of Earth Sciences, Jitendra Singh, also outlines some of the new initiatives of the ministry, including the mission of the oceans in the newly approved, as part of India, as part of India Blue Economy Policy.
Information about the ESM is also shared by Singh in a written response to a parliamentary question in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday.
SINGH on this occasion launched Moes-ESDP (Earth System Science Data Portal), Digital Digital Web portal of the Institute Moes, which provides data on the various themes of the Earth system for public use.
“Portal, developed using information technology tools, aligned with the initiative Digital India from the government to transform the country into a society and knowledge economy powered digitally.
This will facilitate the search and retrieval of data science Earth system (atmosphere, oceans, poles, geoscience and seismology) for the benefit of society in a big way, “said Rajeevan.
Singh also launched a new web site Moes will provide more user-friendly interface and cyber security experience to the public and release a book that discusses new tools for oil exploration.
It will be a valuable reference for researchers to study fluid inclusions and oil prospects.
This event was marked by lectures recorded by Petteri Taalas, Secretary General, World Meteorological Organization (WMO), the ‘WMO, Disasters, Climate, and COP-26’ that addresses the urgent issue of climate change and its impacts.
