Hyderabad: On July 8, Telangana saw the birth of a new party, Telangana YSR.
His head YS Sharmila vowed to deliver ‘Rajanna Rajyam’ in the state.
Now, speculation is increasing in other political parties that are floated by former IPS officers RS Praveen Kumar who are eyeing the power ‘now or never’.
Although the selection of the Assembly will mature in 2023, the registration season of the political party has begun.
In June and July this year, four new parties have submitted registration with the State Commission for Telangana (TSEC).
After obtaining approval from TSEC, the parties tend to register with the Indian Election Commission (ECI).
The Praja Ekta Party, the Jana Chaitanya Party, Telangana Jagrutri and the Bharat Labor Praja Party is among those who have submitted registration.
“In general, before the election, new parties register their names with the intention to oppose the election.
We cancel the general symbol of the party (if given) if they fail to follow 10 percent of the chair and fail to fulfill other conditions,” said Tsec senior official.
Interestingly, there were 51 registered political parties, who did not get a joint symbol during the selection carried out by TSEC.
From them, 12 parties have ‘Telangana’ in their party’s name.
Some parties are similar to popular parties such as the Telugu Congress Party, Telangana Janam Party, Telangana Lok Satta Party, Telangana Jagruthi Samithi and the Telangana Communist Party.
“Even though they create confusion among people, we are technically unable to refuse to register unless there is a special objection from other parties both on the name or symbol,” said an Tsec official.
Twelve parties are national and registered parties with ECI with public symbols such as Congress, BJP, TRS, TDP, Aimim, YSRCP, and even other parties such as the AAM ADMI Party, all Indian and Janata Dal (United).
TSEC officials said they had canceled symbol facilities booked in recent months for parties such as the Jana Sena Party (Tumbler Symbol), Janata Hindustan Party (Kelapa), the Marxist United Communist Party (Gas Cylinder) and the Indian Praja Party (whistling) Failure to oppose even in 10% of the total seats.
