New project for optimal water use is implemented

Kanpur: Smart City Corporation, Kanpur has taken a new project “SCADA water supply (control control and data acquisition)” in the city.
To remember, the Indian government and the state government emphasized the “water conservation” and “optimal use of water & electricity” anywhere possible by using new technology.
On Thursday, the senior district official team visited the SCADA SCADA project site at Jal SanSthan (Water Filtration Bed) and also the Office of Jal Sansthan where the command room and the new control was established.
Commissioner Raj Shekhar said that it was a unique project of the country.
“Supervisor of the Data Supervision and Acquisition (SCASS) is a control system architecture consisting of computers, network data communication and graphical user interface (GUI) for high process monitoring management,” he said.
Officials further said that it was a special project taken by a smart city that would help Kanpur City to ensure drinking water conservation and reduction in electricity consumption until most.
Better drinking water supply and without interference will be ascertained, he said and added, “Also, it will be effective and efficient in the operation and maintenance of the water supply system.” Data collection and analysis and system improvement will also be carried out, he said.
The total project costs around Rs 21 Crores.
It was fully funded by Smart City, Kanpur, said Commissioners added that the project implementation agency was Jal Nigam and Jal Sansthan.
Developer is a Yokogawa company that will implement a project in 15 months and will maintain the system for five years after the project solution.
He further said that Iit-Kanpur is the main consultant and supervision will also be carried out for the implementation of the SCADA water project.
“We have requested agencies to complete Phase 1 & 2 jobs in November 2021,” Commissioner said.
Until now, physical progress is around 37% complete.
The Commissioner has directed the Nodal City Nodal officer, Jal Nigam, Jal Sansthan, Iit-Kanpur team and construction agency officers to sit together weekly and accelerate the progress of work.
The Commissioner also directed a team of Smart City (Nodal Officer, Jal Nigam, Jal Sananan, work bodies, and IIT consultants) to visit Jaipur & to study the work of the SCADA that was implemented there.
