New Delhi: Delhi is ready to get the 14th Regional Transportation Office (RTO) at Jharoda Kalan, which will serve most of the Southwest Delhi.
The new RTO will also have a state-of-the-art automatic driving test path, which will be 10 Delhi.
RTO has been carved from areas that come mainly under the jurisdiction of Dwarka and Janakpuri RTOS, regardless of the Ro RTO regions.
RTOS in Dwarka and Janakpuri is one of the busiest zall offices from the Department of Transportation and applicants having to wait long to get a slot for a test to get a permanent SIM.
According to sources, RTO is new, which will serve areas outside Delhi near Najafgarh, are expected to be inaugurated immediately.
“Residents from this part of the city must go to Dwarka or Janakpuri to get a separate SIM and RTO has been demanding for a long time,” said an official.
This also means a little in a hurry at Dwarka and Janakpuri facilities.
Officials said infrastructure at Jharoda Kalan included building RTO and automatic driving test lines.

At present, automatic driving test tracks are available at Sarai Kale Khan (South and Central Zone), Loni Road (Northeast), Shakur Basti (Northwest), Rohini (Northwest-II), Dwarka (Southwest), Taman Rajouri (West-II )), Burari (North), Mayur Vihar (Timur-I) and Surajmal Vihar (East-II).
With the opening of the automatic test path at Jharoda Kalan and completion of work in Lado Sarai and Nagar Day, Delhi will have 12 automatic tracks next year.
The transportation department then plans to tie another agency for this track maintenance and operation.
The last time Delhi got a new RTO a decade ago when Surajmal Vihar RTO was created to serve the East Delhi area like Shahdara, Anand Vihar, Vishwas Nagar.
The first RTO Delhi was in Rajpur Road and the second opened near Tilak Marg, which is now known as Indraprastha RTO.
