New social Networking rules Shaped Following broad consultations with stakeholders: India in UN

NEW DELHI: The hottest social media rules have been formulated following”broad consultations” with many stakeholders such as the business and civil society,” said India reacting to the questions raised by the Special Procedures Branch of Human Rights Council in the United Nations.
“Permanent Mission of India want to notify MeitY & Information & Broadcasting Ministry provides comprehensive consultations in 2018 with many stakeholders, such as people, civil society, business associations and encouraged public opinions to prepare draft principles,” stated the ministry of electronics and information engineering (MeitY) in an announcement on Sunday.
India’s announcement comes after the UN Special Rapporteurs composed into the Centre stating that India’s Information Technology (Intermediary Strategies and Digital Media Ethics Code) criteria, 2021, in their present form, don’t conform to international human rights standards.
Reacting to the complaint, MeitY stated that the principles were finalized following an inter-ministerial assembly had discussed in detail how the comments obtained.
“Permanent Mission of India want to emphasize India’s democratic credentials have been well known.
The right to liberty of expression and speech is guaranteed under the Indian Constitution.
Independent judiciary and strong media are a part of India’s democratic arrangement,” said the ministry.
