Coimbatore: Rural police are preparing for a proposal to establish a new police station in Neehalamur on the outskirts of the city immediately.
There was also a plan to bring the Kovilpalayam police station under the Subdivision of Periyanenickalayam from the Karumathampatti subdivision for administrative purposes.
The village of Neelaambur Panchayat is currently at the tendril police station limit.
The tendril police must travel at least 8 km to reach the village every time a crime is reported there.
Because the Sulur Police Station has struggled with a lack of labor, Selvanagarathinam Police Supervisors (SP) recently held a meeting with other police officials to discuss the establishment of a new police station guarded by police sub-inspectors in NeeLambur.
“We are preparing for a proposal.
This will reduce the burden on the tendril police.
NeeBur is a newly developed area and must be fully covered,” said Selvanagarathinam.
Rural police have six sub-divisions – periyankenpalalayam, Mettupalayam, Karumathampatti, Furs, Polaarachi and Valpaya – and 39 police stations.
At present, tendrils, Karumathampatti, Kovilpalayam, Chettipalayam and Sulthanpet police station are included under the Karumathampatti sub-division.
“A officer in the rank of police deputy supervisor of the Karumathampatti Sub-Division must travel more than 20 km to reach the KovilPalalayam police station.
Thudiangur and KovilPalalayan Police limit is a solid and developed area.
Both are located near the city border.
So, we plan to bring The Kovilpalayam police station under the Sub-Division of Periyanenickenayam, “SP said.
He said discussions also to change the Karumathampatti sub-division to tendrils.
