Hyderabad: After announcing various welfare schemes for Dalit and BCS, the Telangana Government plans to launch another scheme for more than 2 lakh toddy tapper.
Now, the state plans to provide moped to each.
Each moped is estimated at 60,000 Rs and the scheme will cost the state around Rs 1,200 Crore.
“To start, around 15,000 Toddy Tapper will be given moped each RS 60,000,” Excise Minister V Srinivas Good said.
For this, the government plans to spend around RS 90 Crore this year’s financial year.
The proposal has been prepared by the BC and Excise Welfare Department which will now be sent for Cabinet approval.
The source said the cabinet might clean the proposal at the next meeting.
The official source said the customized two-wheeled design has been adjusted according to the requirements of Toddy Tapper.
“Two-wheel design will also be placed before the Cabinet for approval,” said a senior Excise Ministry official.
The Telangana government has announced a series of welfare schemes for Dalit and BCS in recent years.
Recently, chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao announced the Dalit Bandhu scheme, expanded financial assistance Rs 10 Lakh to Dalits.
A few years ago, the Telangana government had come up with the Sheep Unit distribution program for BCS.
In the first phase, almost 80 lakh units were distributed with RS 6,070 crore expenses.
Now, in the second phase, which starts from Huzurabad, another 6,000 rs crore will be spent.

The country has announced free power to Nayee Brahmins’s hair salon and decided to set up a modern hair salon in the villages.
“Among BCS, after Jadav and Mudhirajs, large amounts of Tapper Tapper.
The government wants to help them,” said a senior official.
