Last month, the formal and complicated ceremonies were held at Ratu’s Richmond Hill, New York City, to uncover road marks named Pandit Ramlall, Indian and popular religious communities.
The New York City Council woman Adhrienne Adams has presented a proposal to rename the street after Ramlall, who died in January 2019, for approval.
It was received without a dispute and signed the law by New York Mayor Bill De Blasio.
Ramlall was active during Guyana’s independence movement and migrated to the US in 1979, and worked in a hospital in Brooklyn.
He is a trade union that organizes workers at the hospital.
He is also famous in New York among politicians and indo-Caribbean community leaders.
He came from Skeldon in the area of six (East Berbice-Corentyne) in Guyana.
Ramlall taught himself Hindi, and then taught the subject at the Tagore Memorial School in Guyana.
He is the Chief of the Aryj Movement on the Corentyne.
In 1974, Ramlall left Guyana to learn Hindi at the University of India, where he received a diploma.
In New York, he was active in the Movement of Arya Jamaj and helped establish two Aryaj Mandirs and played a role in the formation of the confederation of Arya Samaj Mandirs.
He was also closely involved in the launch of the Phagwah and Ramayana parade in the park.
Pandit was accredited, he also did a wedding ceremony for many guyana people, Trinidadian, and India.
Ashook Ramsaran, President of the Indian Diaspora Board and Chair of the Road Naming Committee Ramlall Way, led the campaign to mention the road after Ramlall.
Remsaran is proud to achieve this extraordinary success and feel it is a decent tribute for late Pandit.

He led a dedicated member team who developed a broad file justifying the street name to honor Ramlall.
“We have put it on the map, always seen by everyone and remembered for generations.
