Wellington: New Zealand reported 215 Covid-19 new Delta variant cases in the community on Tuesday, bringing the total number of cases confirmed in the current state community outbreak to 7,268.
Among the new infections, 196 was recorded in the largest Auckland city, 11 in the nearest Waikato, four in Northland, one at Bay of Plenty, and two in the District Health Council (DHB) and one in DHB Midentral, according to the Minister of Health.
The country also reported one Covid-19 death, who was in her 50s at Auckland City Hospital.
Among the cases of Tuesday, a total of 88 cases were being hospitalized, including six intensive care units or high dependency units, the ministry statement said.
The total number of Covid-19 cases confirmed in New Zealand was established at 10,025 at this time, according to the Ministry of Health.
Until now, 91 percent of people who qualified in New Zealand have had their first dose of the Covid-19 and 84 percent vaccine have been fully vaccinated, he said.
