News anchor honeytrapped, 5 held

Noida: Five persons, including two women, have been arrested for allegedly honey-trapping a news anchor and extorting Rs 25,000 from him after threatening to upload online a few of his objectionable pictures.
The news anchor (25) said he had met one of the women during a photography event at a mall six months ago and exchanged phone numbers.
They started talking and developed a liking for each other.
On June 3, the woman called the news anchor to a vacant plot near Sector 44 and took him to her rented flat at Sun City apartments, where another woman was already present.
The trio allegedly drank beer at the flat and the two women started getting intimate with the news anchor.
The three other accused — Sonty, Lucky and Kuldeep — barged into the room and started clicking pictures and recording videos.
They snatched the man’s wallet containing Rs 25,000, his phone and the keys to his Honda City.
Aazad Singh Tomar, the SHO of Sector 39 police station, said the accused had initially demanded Rs 2 lakh from the anchor and beat him up when he pleaded inability to pay so much.
The anchor jumped out of a moving car to escape.
“When the news anchor started vomiting, they took him to Vinayak Hospital.
They were driving back when the man jumped off the vehicle on Dadri road,” the officer said.
While Kuldeep works as a manager at a spa in Sector 18, Sonty is a gym trainer and Lucky sells clothes on the streets.
The women are believed to have worked at the spa where Kuldeep worked.
The five have been booked under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 342 (wrongful confinement), 386 (extortion by putting a person in fear of death or grievous hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC.
