New Delhi: The income tax department on Friday conducted a separate “survey operation” in the online news portal NewsClick and Newslaundry in the national capital, officials said.
They said the operation was being carried out to verify the details of the payment of certain taxes and the delivery of money made by the organization.
Tax officials include business premises from two portals, officials added.
NewsClick and its founders were also raided by the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) in February with the provisions of the anti-money laundering law.
Money laundering cases emerged from Delhi police officers who accused PPK NewsClick Studio Pvt Ltd received direct foreign investment (FDI) RS 9.59 Crore from Worldwide Media Holdings LLC during the 2018-19 financial year.
