New Delhi: National Green Tribunal has directed Ghaziabad District Judges to eliminate encroachment in the green belt area where a private building called ‘Udyog Bhawan’ has been built.
A bench led by the Chairman of NGT Justice A K Goel said that no one denied the district judge’s report ordered by development was illegal encroachment of green belt that violated the master plan, without the permission of the Naga Nagam needed.
“We direct district judges, Ghaziabad with the help of SSP, Ghaziabad to immediately take improvement actions to eliminate encroachment and restore green belts,” NGT said while noting a submission of advice for the authority of the Uttar Pradesh state industry development.
“Every failure in this case may not leave the option except for taking compulsion steps against district judges, Ghaziabad and SSP, Ghaziabad personally,” the court warned in recent order.
It also directs district judges to assess and restore compensation for wrong encroachment on public land in the green belt.
