Government authorities in 2019 found that the lake area was interrupted by 250 families.
Pollution from the lake because the disposal of waste that was not treated from wild residents was also carried by media reports, which pushed NGT Southern Zone to take Suo Motu’s awareness of this issue and the court was a joint commitment to examine the lake area by 2020.
Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) told this panel that it was approved? 93 lakh to renovate the lake.
By using these funds, he has completed the construction of leg walls, stone pitching and created a baby pool to increase storage capacity, the GCC has told the panel in 2020.

“If there is an invalid construction that does not have a connection to the UGS system (underground waste), then there is every possible waste that is not treated out into the body of the water, it cannot be ruled out,” said the court, hoping for the actions to be bound and effectively from the official concerned.
