Kanpur: National Green Tribunal (NGT) has slapped the fine of RS 19.85 Crore at a chemical plant located in akamprampam-chakrampur in Unnao Regency for throwing thousands of tons of chromium waste in the Rania Locage of Kanpur Dayat.
The State Pollution Control Board has issued a notification for this effect on five company partners.
NGT has taken action after verifying that industrial waste was thrown into Rania in the Kanpur petition on board, Radhey Shyam, the committee, which was formed by NGT to conduct spot investigations, finding dirty negligence in the disposal of chromum waste in Rania on the Kanpur Dayat.
NGT then imposed a fine of RS 19.85.25,772 against the company and directed the state pollution control body to restore the number of five company partners.
Copies of NGT orders have been sent to the company partners, said the council.
The Committee stated in his report that the company had thrown around 4,411,684 metric tons of chromium waste in Rania after that NGT calculates environmental damage and slapped the fines according to the chemical factory of Khan Chandrapur in Rania Akbarpur at Kanpur Dayat on charges of removing chromium waste.
When the factory owner prefers appeal to fines, therefore, the fine cannot be realized so far, said JP Maurya Regional Polutionary Control Board officer.
