Jaipur: Police on Saturday arrested one of two snipers, involved in the killing of the Indian National Highway Authority (NHAI) Rajinder Kumar Chawla, from Panipat in Haryana.
Sharpshooter has been identified as Dharmendra Singh, 27, the Additional Commissioner of the Police (crime) Ajay Pal Lamba to Ti.
The second suspect was running away.
The police have learned that the promise shooter promised work in the construction project.
Singh was arrested after interrogation of four main conspirators – Karandeep Sheoran (29), infrastructure owner E5 Pvt Ltd, Naveen Bisla (31), Vikas Singh (33) and Amit Nehra (26).
They were arrested on Friday.
“The initial probe showed that shooter was allegedly employed for Rs 15 Lakh to kill Chawla on August 26th.
However, because more facts appeared, it turned out that Singh and the second shooter were also promised jobs on the construction site,” Lamba said told toi.
The source said two shooters were transported from Haryana to Jaipur on August 26.
They were dropped near the Amrapali circle.
From there, they walked to the Nhai office.
They were given a “signal” shortly before 14:40, that the man walked out of Nhai’s office to smoke a cigarette was their target.
The shooters walked near Chawla and fired a single shot from the weapon (allegedly becoming a gun).
The police said, the shooters were told that the black SUV would wait to take them back to Haryana after the crime.

“Singh and his aide were really confused when they could not find the promised trip to Haryana.
