HYDERABAD: The Rs 17,000 crore regional ring street (RRR) job to be carried up outside the outer ring road (ORR) at Telangana is right on course.
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has invited tenders from specialist consultancies to prepare a more comprehensive project report to the northern half of their 340-km access-controlled expressway.
Even though the previous date for opening of technical bids was May 25, the NHAI expanded it around June two keeping in light of this Covid-19 situation after requests in the bidders.
The new expressway, regarded as country’s biggest ring road linking the vast majority of those districts in Telangana, is intended to be created in two parts below the government’s Bharatmala Pariyojana stage I in an estimated cost of Rs 17,000 crore.
Even the Bharatmala project envisages growth of 26,000 km span of financial corridors, which combined with Golden Quadrilateral and north-south and east-west corridors are predicted to carry bulk of cargo traffic on streets.
The Telangana authorities will bear 50 percent of its property acquisition cost, and it has spent Rs 750 crore to the job in its own 2021-22 budget.
Even the semi-greenfield expressway is originally intended to have four lanes and enlarged to six lanes based on traffic.
The northern half of this job extends around 180 kilometers and is projected to cost Rs 9,500 crore.
It’ll connect Sangareddy, Narsapur, Toopran, Gajwel, Yadadri, Pragnapur, Bhuvanagiri along with Choutuppal metropolitan clusters.
The southern portion of the expressway extends around 160 kilometers and is projected to cost Rs 6,480 crore and can link Choutuppal, Ibrahimpatnam, Kandukur, Amangal, Chevella, Shankarpally along with Sangareddy.
CM K Chandrasekhar Rao is monitoring the undertaking.
He explained the RRR provides much better accessibility to farmers to market their produce and in addition to the authorities and private gamers to prepare chilly chains, agro-processing components, IT parks and fresh townships.
