SRINAGAR: The National Investigation Agency (Nia) on Saturday arrested two accused of being involved in militant acts in the state of Istama.
According to an official spokesman, Ishfaq Ahmed Wani, a resident of Srinagar and Umar Bhat, a Sopore resident was arrested in connection with a case of conspiracy related to militant acts.
“This case is related to the conspiracy to carry out cruel militant actions at J & K and other major cities by LASKHAR-E-TAIBA cadres (leave), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JEM), Hizb-Ul-Mujahiden (HM) , Al Badr and their affiliates such as Front Resistance (TRF), and people against fascist forces (PAFF), “Nia’s official statement.
Nia has registered a case on October 10 and initiated an investigation.
“Until now, 25 accused people have been arrested in this case by Nia,” he said.
The agency said that the initial investigation had revealed that the person who was arrested was militant colleagues from various terrorist organizations which were prohibited and had provided logistical and material support to ultras.
Further investigation in this case is underway.
