Kolkata: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested the former Director of Corporate Implementation and Natural Resource Resources based on Jharkhand, from his residence in Salt Lake on the eastern outskirts of Kolkata on Tuesday for allegedly funding militant clothes.
On Wednesday, a special Nia court sent accusing Mahesh Agarwal on four-day transit delivery.
On Tuesday, the Nia official and police team Bidhannagar reached his home around 10:30 after the Jharkhand Court rejected the request “no coercive action”.
The source said that Agarwal was allegedly trying to escape in the car with the Nagaland number plate.
The team intercepted the car, but his two legs managed to escape.
Nia’s lawyer Shyamal Ghosh, said section 414, 384, 386 and 337 of the Indian punishment code related to extortion, endangered human life and hiding the stolen property, in addition to the parts under the UPA had been charged.
“All parts cannot be responded to.
He will now be produced in the Jharkhand Court,” said.
This case, which was originally registered at the Textile Police Station in Chatra Jharkhand, related to a large payment made for local militant clothing, Tritiya Prastuti Committee (TPC).
Agency tracks that TPC – CPI splinter group (Maois) – is receiving payment from the company entity.
After taking over this case in 2018, the National Agency learned that Agarwal was suspected of paying Rs 200 per tonne of coal to transportation which allegedly transferred money to TPC members in the village committee to ensure a fine hallway for its trucks.
TPC is used to operate in the Area of the Amrapali-Magadh project in Central Coalfield Ltd and extort employers.
Also alleged that Agarwal helped TPC members, including regional commanders and Bindeswar Ganjhu, to raise funds for militant clothing.
The agency also produces email, which is said to claim that Agarwal knows the money paid to TPC, in court.
Acryly, aka Netaji, allegedly used to make regular phone calls to people close to Agarwal too.
Agarwal’s name appears along with the other four in the additional cost sheet submitted by the agency in January 2020.
Based on it, an underspecom warrant was issued to it.
“The load sheet was challenged at the Jharkhand Court, which on Tuesday was emptied of an undigested warrant incurred to him,” said Nia Lawyer Debashis Malhick Choudhury.
Agarwal lawyer Ayan Bhattacharya believes that he became involved in this case and his name only appeared on the second additional cost sheet.
His name is not there as abscoons in this case.
He was tested Covid-19 positive on January 14, even though he was arrested by Nia.
Previously at the Jharkhand Court, Agarwal lawyers argue that even if there is a retribution given to TPC, the intention to use that amount is unknown to agarwal.
While agarwal involved, the company was not involved in this case, and he was no longer a company director in May 2019.
