Nicaraguan police Put Resistance leader under house arrest

Managua: Nicaraguan police hauled to the house of opposition leader Cristiana Chamorro on Wednesday, escalating a political struggle before elections later this season where long-time President Daniel Ortega is trying to continue to power.
The authorities put Chamorro under home arrest, in accordance with Chamorro’s brother, journalist Carlos Chamorro, also proceeded to occupy the land at the capital Managua later raiding it over five hours before, he composed a post on Twitter.
Social networking and local tv broadcast live pictures of authorities entering and enclosing Chamorro’s residence before on Wednesday, where authorities could be viewed using drive to eject different journalists that had came to cover the spectacle.

A judge at the capital Managua set from the arrest sequence, acceding to the attorney general’s petition, the announcement said.
The attorney general on Tuesday officially sought Chamorro’s disqualification from holding public office because of the criminal investigation started against her.
