LAGOS: A official of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) said seven colleges at the northwestern state of Kebbi was closed down in the wake of an assault on a secondary college a week.
Isah Arzika, state chairman of the marriage in Kebbi, supported this in an announcement on Sunday, stating those affected were colleges situated around the frontlines of those regions likely to attacks by suspected bandits, reports Xinhua news agency.
He said the authorities had led all school attorneys to shut school that was not secure, including police and vigilantes had been set up into the colleges for tracking and security.

“Government has provided us an purchase and choice to take any essential actions so much as our colleges are involved.
We could close those colleges that we believe aren’t secure and more prone to strikes in the regions near the woods,” he explained.
He said seven colleges are closed and this type of movement is a proactive step to protect against a recurrence of this incident like that of Federal Government College in Birnin Yauri place on June 17.
