Ludhiana: Khanna police on Monday claimed to have arrested two people, including a Nigerian woman, after more than one kilogram of heroin recovered from them.
Princess Chinoye, who came from Nigeria and lived in Uttam Nagar, New Delhi, and Palwinder Singh from Pandawa Nagar, New Delhi, was arrested in Doraha on Sunday.
Khanna SP (Detective) Manpreet Singh, “at a checkpost in front of FCI Godown at GT Road in Doraha, taxi (DL-01-ZD-1068) from the side of Khanna was stopped.
The driver was identified as a Palwinder and passenger as a chinoye daughter.” During checking, 1,200kg heroin, worth Rs 6 Crore on the international market, found in a polyethene bag in the back seat.
After recovery, both were arrested under the NDPS law.
The police said Putri Chinoye revealed that she had received a consignment from Delhi and would supply to someone in Amritsar.
Previously, they had sent a consignment in Tarn Taran.
Police said their record was scanned to check whether the defendant had a criminal record.
