NileKani to join the Advisory panel to prevent digital monopoly

New Delhi: Center on Monday announced the Constitution of the Advisory Committee to accelerate the development of open networks for digital trade (ONDC), designed to prevent digital monopoly.
Infosys Nandan Nilekani’s non-executive chairman will join this panel as an advisor, along with eight other members.
The Committee aims to promote open networks developed in open source methodology, using open specifications and open network protocols that are independent of certain platforms.
“ONDC is expected to digitize the entire value chain, operating operations, promoting inclusion suppliers, obtaining efficiency in logistics and increasing value for consumers,” said the department for industrial promotion and internal trade (DPIIT) in an official statement.
The additional secretary (ITEC), DPIIT will be the organizer of the Advisory Board, he said.
