Hyderabad: National Nutrition Institute (NIN) and the State Government will conduct a survey to find out the seroprevalence of Covid-19 in 33 Telangana Regency.
The survey, which will begin on Tuesday, will be carried out among the general population and health care workers in all districts and aims to assess the level of spread of community infections in the state.
Nin said: “The prevalence of Sero will be assessed by researching SARS COV-2, IgG antibodies in blood samples collected from the general population and health workers in all districts.
The Telangana Government supports this survey and the Ministry of Health and other administrative departments will collaborate with us.
“Home-to-home surveys will cover 330 villages.
“About 16,000 people will be borne.
In each 33 districts, 10 villages will be chosen randomly and, from each village, 40 people over six years, both men and females, will be borne.
In addition, samples and Data will also be collected from health care workers in all districts, “Dr Avula Lax Maiiah, Head, Community Health Nutrition Division, ICMR-NIN, who lead surveys, said.
“More than 20 teams, each with scientists / doctors, technicians and phlebotomists, four coordinators, a major scientist from Nin will work together with the State Health Department to complete the survey in three weeks,” said Director Nin Hemalata.
