Coimbatore: City Police have registered the First Information Report (FIR) against the former Minister and AIDMK MLA S P Velumani, eight other MLA parties and hundreds of party officials to protest the state government without following Covid-19 guidelines.
Several hundreds of AIADMK cadres have packed the South Taluk Office in Huzur Road on Friday to condemn the state government because it does not focus on solving public problems.
Police said such a demonstration was not permitted because of the pandemic situation.
“AIDMK officials violated Covid-19 guidelines and gathered illegally in one place, without considering the possibility of spreading the virus.
So they were ordered under Section 143 (assemblies that violated law), 269 (negligent actions tended to spread dangerous disease infections for life) and 341 (penalty for restraint) from the Criminal Procedure) from the Criminal Code , Valparai Mla Amul Kandasamy, Avinashi MLA P Dhanabal, Kinathukadavu MLA Kandasamy.
