Thane: Nine Bangladesh citizens were arrested in Bhiwandi from the Thane Maharashtra District, for allegedly living in the country without a legitimate document, an official said on Friday.
Violations under the Indian passport law and foreign citizen laws have been registered with the defendant, who were employed in the textile unit in the Industrial Area in Saravali, said Kongaon Police Kongaon counter house officer.
Based on tip-off, the police carried out an attack in the Saravali industrial area at the end of Thursday night and arrested the defendant, he said.
The people who were arrested were identified as Salim Amin Shaikh (30), Rasal Abul Hasan Shaikh (27), Mohammad Shain Mohammad Akbaralai Shaikh (24), Mohammad Masoom Sheidulla Islam (21), Tarunmaniram Tripura (21), 25), Ismail Abu Tahir Khan (19), Azam Yusuf Khan (19) and Mohammad Amir Abu Sufia Khan (26), was stated.
In a similar action a few days ago, the MBVV police had arrested Nine Nationals Bangladesh from Govind Nagar Locality of Bhayander, said an official.
Violations were registered against them with the Naya Nagar police station, he said.
In related matters, Navi Mumbai police on Thursday issued instructions to foreign nationals to register for themselves with local police when they live within the boundaries of the coming.
Violating the rules will invite police actions, orders stated.
