New Delhi: Nine new judges, including three women, whose appointment to the Supreme Court has been released by the center, tends to be sworn in August 31 by the Chairman of Indian Justice (CJI) NV Ramana, said the APEX court source on Thursday.
RAM President Nath Kovind has signed a warrant for their appointment including Justice BV Nagaratrathna, who was in line to become the first woman of CJI in September 2027.
The source said that four of the new APEX court judges were the main judges of the high court different from the High Court.
And they need time to end their administration and justice there.
They said in all high courts, Friday was the last working day of the week and the judges needed at least one working day to end their work there.
With the power of sanctions of 34 judges, the Supreme Court until now has 10 jobs.
After the new judge will take an oath next week, the top court will only have one vacancy.
