Moscow: Nine Coronavirus patients were killed in Russian hospitals in the southern city of Vladikavkaz after oxygen pipes exploded underground, supply cutting to the intensive care ward, Russian news agencies reported on Monday.
“Nine patients with Coronavirus died of lack of oxygen,” said the TASS news agency quoting local health services.
“A total of 71 people in intensive care, not all (accept) oxygen supply,” Tass said quoting services.
Regional authorities have agreed with the Ministry of Defense to supply oxygen to all city hospitals from Mozdok City, about 80 km (50 miles) North Vladikavazz, Ria reported.
“There was an explosion in the oxygen pipe from the reservoir, which was underground, and the supply of oxygen was stopped,” acting head of the North Ossetia region, where Vladikavkaz was quoted by the news agency.
“Medical staff have begun connecting patients in the ventilator to the oxygen tank.
Oxygen tanks have begun to arrive,” said the head of North Ossetia acting, Sergei Menailo.
