Agra: Attorney of the Supreme Court Seema Kushwaha, who has been against the NIRBhaya case in 2012 and is currently a lawyer Kin from victims of the rape and murder of Hathras Gang, joining the Bahujan Summons (BSP) on Thursday in front of the All-India General Secretary of the Satish Party Chandra Misra.
Speaking with Toi, Kushwaha said he was inspired by Mayawati.
“He has struggled a lot in his life and became a woman he understood the fate of women,” he said, adding that during his tenure of law and the situation of order in the country was good.
“The crime against women has increased.
I fought several rape and murder cases, whose victims had been Dalit, like the Hathras case.
But now I want to work on policy and it is only possible by joining politics,” he said, adding that he had not decided To oppose the election so far but if the party gives him responsibility, he will take it.
Kushwaha said he joined BSP to ensure justice for a weaker part of society.
Last year in July he had established the Samradh Bharat Trust to provide legal assistance to women who were free of charge.
Kushwaha is a legal trainee when the Nirbhaya case enters light.
He has participated in various protests demanding justice for him.
He officially became a NIRBhaya lawyer in 2014 and demanded a death sentence for four adult convicts as soon as possible.
On January 24, 2014, he joined Nirbhaya Jyoti Trust, founded by the victim’s parents, to help women who experience violence to find shelters and legal assistance.
In 2020, he offered legal assistance to the families of the 19-year-old rape and murder of Hathras.
He was then threatened by a lawyer in the courtroom in Hathras during the case process, but he did not stop representing the family in court.
