Tokyo: Nishad Kumar India won a silver medal at the T47 T47 men’s high jump in Paralympics with an Asian record effort here on Sunday.
The 21-year-old Kumar was cleaning 2.06 m to win the silver and set Asian records.
American Dallas Wise was also awarded silver because he and Kumar cleaned the same height of 2.06 m.

Other Indians in Fray, Ram Pal finished fifth with the best leaps of 1.94m.
T47 class is intended for athletes with unilateral upper leg disorders which results in some function losses on shoulders, elbows and wrists.
Coming from Una at Himachal Preadeh, Kumar met with an accident at the age of eight which resulted in the loss of his right hand.
He also signed Covid-19 earlier this year while practicing in the Sai Center in Bengaluru.

He began to compete in the paragretics Athletics in 2009.
This is the second medal in India from the match after Bhavinaben Patel won silver at the Women’s 4-class table tennis program the previous day.
Patel became only the second Indian woman who won a medal in the match after losses 0-3 from the world number one Chinese Paddler Ying Zhou in the final.
