Nissan Requires Rs 6.5 crore for Covid relief

CHENNAI: Nissan India has donated Rs 6.
5 crore towards Covid aid from Tamil Nadu.
The business has given Rs 2.
2 crore into the Tamil Nadu State Disaster Relief Fund, Rs 25 lakh to the Tamil Nadu CM Relief Fund and more than Rs 4.
3 crore to buy Covid-19 relief gear, masks, and PPE Kits along with many others.
During the past couple of months, Nissan India has dispersed N-95 masks, including PPE kits, oxygen concentrators, portable ECG machines, including X-ray machines, pulse oximeters and rectal oxygen machines at Delhi NCR and Chennai.
In addition, in partnership with the World Community Service Centre, RNAIPL (Renault Nissan Automotive India) was distributing cooked food bundles to migrant workers and the destitute.
Rakesh Srivastava, managing director, Nissan Motor India, said”Safety & well-being of their society, clients, partners and employees will be paramount.
In this, multiple projects have been taken together with the Government authorities & NGOs.
” With the support of primary health centers (PHCs), many workers’ in the plant along with their households will likely be treated vaccines, whilst workers that are 45 years old and over, have been treated their next dose,” stated a company announcement.
“Nissan India also has spread Covid-19 kits, higher insurance levels, procured beds, oxygen concentrators and ventilators in local hospitals to encourage workers & their families,” said the announcement.
Biju Balendran, MD, RNAIPL, stated”We continue to consider all the required measures by carefully & rigorously monitoring the adherence to local authorities recommendations on health & security parameters”
