Nagpur: For the first time in the history of the city, the Nagpur Infrement Trust (NIT) has prepared 125 playgrounds with sports infrastructure in a road.
The Civic Agency is now set to submit this playground to the sports association, club or NGO for operation and maintenance (O & M) for 10 years.
Realizing the need to play more with the right infrastructure considering the typical experience of Krida Mahotsav, starting to promote sports talents, members of the City Parliament and Nitin Gadkari Union Minister have proposed projects.

An Official Nit told Toi, “Now, working at 125 playgrounds has been completed.
Similar works cannot be done in 21 playgrounds left for various reasons.
Nit has invited applications from sports associations, clubs, NGOs etc.

“The official added that the selected applicants could do more development work in the playground, recovering costs from sportsmen.
They will not be asked to provide any income to Nit.

As part of the project, Nit has built a compound wall in the playground, which is not guarded before.
There are repaired compound walls anywhere needed.
The walking and running trajectory has been developed followed by changing rooms, toilets, shop rooms, etc.
Cricket pitch, cement court for skating, basketball, volleyball, arena for kabaddi, kho kho and other games have also been developed by considering requests.

NIT officials said, “The five member committees have been formed to verify the application received from the Sports Association, Club, NGOs etc.
Allotment will be carried out after completion of the process.
