New Delhi: Three students at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela have pocketed a job with an annual payment package of 45 lakh, while nine of them have been offered 43 lakh rs per year on the placement journey this year, officials said.
Institute, however, does not divulge the name of students pocketing high packages according to policy.
“This year, taking the drive placement is a tight task.
Even though the pandemic, three students offered an annual payment package of Rs 45 Lakh, the highest so far, while nine is offered by Rs 43 lakh per year,” said Umesh C star, “said Umesh C Pati, head of training and placement center, Nit Rourkela.
With 84 companies that offer 253 students more than RS 10 lakh per year, the average CTC offered is around Rs 9.36 LPA, an increase of more than four percent from the previous year.
A total of 211 other students pocketed the offer of prestigious internships from global majors such as Microsoft, Barclays, Bajaj Auto, Citi Bank and Qualcomm with the highest allowance rising to Rs 1 lakh per month.

“So far, the Institute has received more than 841 full-time offers.
256 Participating companies in placement drives come from various sectors such as software, manufacturing, electronics, finance, education, petroleum, construction and top public sector units GAIL, C- DAC, Trai, C-dot, IOCL, “said Pati.
The placement statistics report shows that the IT and software sectors have emerged as the top recruiters (41 percent of total recruitment) to date.
Core techniques, electrical and electronic manufacturing, analytics and consulting, banking and insurance financial services (BFSI), and the educational sector shared the rest.
The computer science department and engineering bagged 187 jobs, maximum among all other departments.
More than 230 graduate students have pocketed a job offer so far.
Bachelor students also succeeded, with the Chemical Engineering Department reached 100 percent placement, followed by computer science and electronic engineering department and communication, which reached 98 percent.
Among others, electronic engineering and electrical engineering and electricity reached 92 percent and 88 percent placement respectively.
“This year’s placement season has witnessed extraordinary success even though the current Covid-19 pandemic, which is proof of education submitted at the Institute.
