Lucknow: Six Hospitals District in Uttar Pradesh has been ranked as a top player in assessment conducted by Niti Aayog for unification of the Ministry of Health and family welfare.
The exercise, which assesses the performance of 700-plus government hospitals throughout India in 10 indicators of framework, evaluates hospitals in three domains: structure, process and output / results.
The ranking shows that four hospitals, including Balrampur Hospital, Lucknow, found the best in the OPD consultation category.
The most extraordinary among them is the surgical productivity index where Sapru Tej Bahadur Hospital, Prasagraj, has been ranked best in the country.
Other hospitals in the list included, Malkhan Singh District Hospital, RNM Firozabad District Hospital, Kannauj Regency Hospital and District Hospital.
Experts, however, believe that the top slot if there is’ paramedic staff ratio in a position for IPHS ‘norms’ given to the combination of Kannauj District Hospital is not a real achievement.
Reason: The hospital has six times more paramedic staff who show the distribution of leaning from the workforce available and speak for the designated Mielis vision.
“Despite the allocation of large funds for district hospitals, as well as their important role in providing health services, there is no comprehensive system to assess their performance based on their results,” said the background document about exercise, ‘The Health of Hospital’.
It also shows that the list of indicators and batteries is withdrawn after consultation with countries.
Data from the hospital management information system was taken for hospital rankings.
The declaration and assessment under the Mission Kayakalp also called before assigning the score.
Health workers said Niti Aayog had requested the best home background in the pre-decided format to release rankings in official reports aimed at providing templates for competition.
